LEHEN IL QALA PDF

It seems like yesterday when I was putting pen to paper to wish everyone a marvellous feast and here we are again, celebrating the feast of our beloved Patron Saint Joseph. First and foremost we should concentrate more on the sainthood of our beloved Saint and moreover to show our love and respect with the utmost devotion. We can then happily turn our attention to the outside festivities where we can totally enjoy ourselves with our festive Bands and everything else organised for this special occasion. Amongst whom are our brothers and sisters, who in spite of the expense for them, still come every few years from far away lands to visit their families and pay homage to Saint Joseph on his feast day.

This is not surprising. Our lives are becoming more and more busy, our to-do-lists are getting longer, with clients often complaining that 24 hours in a day are not enough to manage their very busy schedules! Most of the time, symptoms of stress and anxiety are reasonable responses to the situation we are in, and indeed may be crucial for survival. They prepare us for coping with stress or danger by releasing the hormone adrenaline, which generates physical and mental changes that prepare us to take on a challenge or react to a dangerous situation.

Today we face more subtle forms of stress, but the adrenaline response still helps us to rise to a challenge and perform well. Anxiety becomes a problem only when it is exaggerated or appears out of context. What are the warning signs and symptoms that anxiety has taken a toll on us and that is becoming a problem? Anxiety becomes apparent in the form of bodily, psychological and behavioural changes. The bodily changes may include shortness of breath, high blood pressure, sweating and digestive symptoms e.

These may include headaches, pain in the neck or stomach. During the early stages of anxiety, the psychological changes cause our thinking to become more focused more directed towards problem-solving. However, with chronic stress and anxiety our performance starts to deteriorate and exaggerated anxiety becomes counterproductive. Psychologically, we may feel we always fear the worse, we experience forgetfulness, lack of concentration and may experience constant demoralization such as not being good enough or feelings of failure.

Behavioural changes associated with anxiety may take the form of a burst of energy, or finding unusual strength to get out of a dangerous situation. Although some behaviours may provide temporary relief from anxietyprovoking situations, they can lead to a loss of self-confidence in the long term.

The good news is that there are ways and means of overcoming anxiety without necessarily resorting to medication. Below are some tips for coping and which can be useful in situations of mild to moderate symptoms: 1. Challenging distorted thinking: The way that we think about things has an impact on our anxiety levels. Many of these thoughts occur outside of our control, and can be negative or unhelpful. It is therefore important to remember that they are just thoughts, without any real basis, and are not necessarily facts.

It helps to make a list of situations which provoke anxiety and challenge them. Sometimes, this helps see things more realistically and put things in perspective. Exercise: Exercise has a beneficial effect on our overall well-being and improves our mood.

It is also a great way of releasing stress and anxiety.
